Cosmetic Surgery Procedures
Facelift is a surgical procedure that can help a patient obtain a youthful, beautifully contoured facial profile. This procedure, which typically lasts 2-3 hours, has a recovery time of up to six weeks. The rejuvenating effect of facelift usually lasts for up to 15 years and can be extended by undergoing periodic treatments of injectables such as Botox, Sculptra and Radiesse. The most common causes of facial aging are prolonged exposure to environmental factors such as sun and wind, stress and smoking. If considering facial plastic surgery, it is best to consult board-certified plastic surgeons as they have the most experience and training in their respective field. After obtaining a medical degree, plastic surgeons usually undergo 3-5 years of general surgical training before completing 2-3 years of plastic surgery training. Some surgeons choose to undergo additional fellowship training in order to specialize in a certain area and/or procedure of cosmetic surgery.
